Building credit with many smaller purchases, or one large purchase per billing period? Which is faster?

building good credit
SomeGuy asked:

Will it be better, and/or faster, to build my credit by making several smaller purchases per month or one to two larger purchases? I am ordering several items from a single merchant that can either be grouped together, or purchased separately. Also, my credit limit is quite low.
Do I still keep my balance below 30% of my limit, even if I intend to pay the balance back in full during the grace period?

How can I start building good credit?

building good credit
Krazzykay asked:

I have no credit at all because I am still a student who has not started paying off student loans yet. I don’t have any credit cards, I refuse to get one because of the trouble that could lead to. I have a car that is all paid off because it was my father’s before it was mine, so I don’t pay car payments. The trouble is that I cannot get approved for loans on my own or apply for a contract to rent an appartment without getting my parents to co-sign. The lenders always tell me: “Deffinately come back and see us when you have established good credit.” Well, how am I supposed to get credit of any kind, good or bad, when the only way I see that I can is by getting a credit card that I am “Pre-approved” for already?

How many credit cards should you have to rebuild credit?

Nikita asked:

I am trying to rebuild my credit after ID theft, a couple of problems that were mine and years of basically not having any credit reported. (I primarily use my debit card and pay cash for everything). I make good money now and am trying to rebuild in order to purchase a condo in the next couple of years. My good accounts (rental, club, cable, cell, etc.) have not reported my good credit. So how many cards should I take out that will help boost my credit score but not hinder my credit. Thank you!
