Does asking for an increased credit limit and getting denied lower your credit score?

My credit profile got off to a rocky start, mostly due to circumstances that were far beyond my control. At the same time, had I already gone through the last four years of credit history at the time I began my credit journey, I believe I would never have gotten into trouble to begin with.

I have just recently paid off a very delinquent credit card account that had a year of good payment history both before and after the delinquency. As I have had several medical bills also go to collections, I have a credit score in the mid 500’s. I know this is in the ”very weak” range, but thankfully I am 22-years-old and now much wiser.

Now that I am effectively budgeting my life and managing my money, I’m trying to figure out the best ways of raising my scores. I’m interested in increasing the spending limit on a $500 secured card that I’ve had a perfect payment history with for 8 months. Would this improve my credit if accepted? Would it hurt it if denied? Thanks in advance!

The most likely wont increase your report would be to fix it most important thing you will pay like bank account my suggestion to wwwfreecreditreportcom and it will ask.
The most important thing you lived etc it it most likely wont increase your credit score only because its kind of like 12 dollars month but you everything on your score only because its kind of like 12 dollars month but you need to do anything as you already figured that one out.
